It not the normal way on training for a 10km run, but I am currently playing in the middle of a soccer season, with many delays due the recent run of rainy weather. Long run training and soccer training don’t always mix well, with regards to injuries and time.
So, I have been jumping into the ocean to help with my muscles, my sanity, and being one with nature. It has been wonderful for my general health and blood chemistry.
This has been done often before work and of late it has been at the very beginning of the day. It has been a bit chilly but as long as there is no cold breeze, well wind, then its ok. Its amazing how the body adapt!
I managed to get James to join the man in a close encounter with nature. He does love the water! However early in the morning does not always work with his day programme and he may not appreciate the water temperature that Dad may expose him to. He occasionally has a strong will…
Sometimes I don’t contend with James’ will, but mother nature’s will. It can be SO unpredictable. When they call it a “freak” wave, that’s an understament!
