Miroma/Inala had its annual Art expose of its wonderful adults with artistic abilities. The 2023 Inala Art Exhibition After the Rain is at Woollahra Gallery at Redleaf (548 New South Head Rd, Double Bay).
The exhibition will be open to the general public from 29 November – 7 January. It is an opportunity to experience what is a truly beautiful exhibition.
“The arts program at Inala has a long-standing history of producing high quality art and craft, and has held exhibitions in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs and North West District for the past two decades.
‘After the Rain’ is a powerful collection of works that highlight the resilience and creativity of Inala’s participants. The theme of water as a symbol of hope and rebirth is beautifully woven throughout the artworks.
The exhibition features artworks created by a diverse group of people living with disability, who showcase an extraordinary diversity of visual talent. Their works, much like the rain, serve as harbingers of hope in the heart of what is clearly not a geographical or cultural desert in our continent.
While we must congratulate Inala, and all the staff whose belief and work has facilitated this exhibition, our admiration must go to the artists themselves for producing, in the face of many difficulties, works of extraordinary power, beauty, and cultural significance.”

On behalf of our Inala artists
There are three paintings at this exhibition by the artist Richard, who happens to be my brother-in-law.
Richard throws all his passion and emotion into his works. He uses diverse materials and colour combinations and imparts vibrancy and dynamism. This shows the importance of individual expression as a means of connection to our community.
Miroma has always provided a rich history of flexible individual tailored programs and services which recognise the abilities and support the aspirations and development of each individual.
