12 months ago, I said the following “12 months is a long time in a pandemic. We are now getting back to normal, but with some hiccups. Covid is still around but in a more subdued form, for now. The flu is having an impact as people still get sick. Even our Christmas feast numbers were reduced because of these wonderful organisms. Staff shortages everywhere even at our Feast.”
Well, this year, sickness is everywhere. Patients have been cancelling left, right and centre due to the various microbes and viruses ding the rounds. Even staff where we had four off in one day! Even my son had to come in to the rescue!
This year not everyone could make our Christmas festivities due to illness. However, many of us could, so we all enjoyed ourselves like it 2023…. whatever that means!
Even the Feast changed as the venue was being renovated, so we went Brazilian! We all ate so much! Obviously, very carnivorous in attitude! Then there was the entertainment to remind you of this wonderful country.
We have had staff changes over this year. Wonderful Sue retired in April this year…..well almost. She remotes into work four hours a week to help with stock and other matters and to keep in touch with patients. Always great to talk to her.
We have new staff joining us.
Violeta, a very experienced dental nurse, is a welcome addition to our team.
Also, a new dental student Nishita, has replaced Jessica, who needed to focus on the heavy workload of the dental course. We wish Jessica all the best and welcome Nishita.
Finally, Demi a trainee dental nurse has joined us after completing year 12 on a casual basis, however with all the staff sickness, she has really need to set up. Sorry for throwing you in the deep end!
Even, yours truly, finally got Covid in May. Only Roni has not had the pleasure of a visit from this virus…. Well done.
I am very thankful to my amazing staff and patients who have endured many changes, some of which are once in a lifetime.
These wonderful nurses have been with Seymour Dental for many years and I am truly blessed. Thank you Sue, Renee, Roni, Maggy, for all that you have done over the many years. Thanks again to Yvette our casual, back up nurse when we needed her help.
Thank you to the dental labs that provide quality work and have gone far beyond giving great service for our patients, Flex Dental (Sam), Inner West and White Dental. The place would not keep running without the maintenance carried out with great service by Tristan Dental, HTC and Sydney Air.
Many thanks go to Nina for cleaning the practice after hours.
Thanks, Dr Chris, for your friendship and conversations we have had throughout this year.
Computers are integral to the function of the practice and Mark, my brother, has been there to help. Teamwork Solutions have also helped out when needed.
Aisha, our media expert, has been amazing with Facebook, Social and Digital Media part of the practice.
Volt Creative needs to be thanked for the maintaining the website and for making these blogs look so good!
I would not be able to achieve anything without ever supportive wife Eva, who has always done so much for the family. James is the wonderful young man he is because of her efforts, also my other son Robbie who has now finished his second year of uni., and his third year at Westpac.
Thank you to all the people who come to Seymour Dental. We are privileged to meet you and be a part of your lives.
Please have a very Merry and safe Christmas, as we celebrate Jesus’ birth. See you in 2024 to more Whoo Hoo - as life is too short!
