After physiotherapy and acupuncture treatment on a torn left calf muscle from playing soccer, I’m ready to start training for the 10km “Marathon” over the Harbour Bridge.
I started my training with a brisk walk and slow jog around Cooks River where Team Miroma had the Virtual Bridge Run during Covid with Gillian. I pulled up ok, but from now on, I’ll have to pick up my game as it’s only 5 weeks to go before the big day.
Jo will be training for the Bay to Bay Half Marathon on the Central Coast in a couple weeks as a “warm up” for the 10km Bridge Run.
I’ll have to put in some serious training to keep up with Jo!
James has Autism and is non-verbal and now 25. Team Miroma is running to raise awareness of young adults with disabilities and to raise funds to help them learn more and be more.
All donations will go to Inala’s Eastern Suburbs service – Miroma and are tax deductible. The donations are allocated to providing a flexible range of person-centred services, programs and lifestyle supports that help individuals living with disability to reach their full potential.
If you or family or friends would like to sponsor us all, that would be great. Donations can also be sent to Miroma by logging on to the website at https://inala.org.au/get-involved/make-a-donation/
