The day has finally come for Team Miroma. We had an interesting email the day before. As the weather forecast was going to be a hot 26c, the organisers were adding an extra water station. Now here’s the OMG part, there will be more St John’s ambulance personnel on standby, ready to help!
What a beautiful day! The icy wind from past days was gone, replaced with a light sea breeze. It was absolutely perfect running conditions for Ellie and the man.
At the start of the run was a sea of people ready to go onto the deck of the Bridge from the start near Luna Park. I think this year was a record number of people, many of whom are from all over the world, especially Japan. It took us 15 minutes just to get to the starting line.
We crossed the Bridge into the corkscrew road tunnel, where shouting “Coooee!” is a must, then on to the Cahill expressway. The Opera House and the Harbour are now in full view as we then travelled alongside the Botanical Gardens. Back up Art Gallery Rd to Hyde Park and then down Macquarie St to the Forecourt of the iconic Opera House. Counting down the 10 kms to the Finish!
We did it for Miroma!

Thanks Ellie for keeping the pace up and to spurring me on to the end without any extra help from the St John Ambulance guys! You deserve a medal!
