968 – Occlusal Adjustment after Occlusal Analysis – per visit
The adjustment of the bite of both natural of artificial teeth following occlusal analysis. The use of this item is after items 963 and/or 964 have been done. This involves reducing the RCP-ICP slide, by adjusting supracontacts. Also to ensure there is freedom of movement of the jaw from side to side and front to back, by adjusting interferences. This can be determined by assessing the models or by looking in the mouth. The adjustments are usually very minor without the need for ananesthetic.
971 – Adjunctive physical therapy for the jaw joint and associated structures – per visit
Application of physical therapy such as heat, other radiation, or ultrasonic therapy, usually in the area of the jaw joint and muscles and as a part of overall occlusal therapy.
972 – Repair/addition – Occlusal splint
The repair/addition to a broken, cracked, or worn splint. This includes its reinsertion and adjustment. Impressions may be required and additional item numbers are needed.
