Patient privacy is our priority. The staff has been trained not to talk about any patients in public or private. This is patient/dentist confidentiality. This is to ensure that the privacy of all patients is respected. We are not allowed to tell if family member has attended and what treatment has been carried out, unless they are less than 14 years of age (i.e. a minor). Personal details are not divulged to anyone without the patient’s permission.
The free email newsletter, that is sent out every couple of months, the email address is not sent to any organization. Permission must be obtained to opt in to receiving the newsletter and people can opt out at any time.
The patient records AND Xrays/photos which form part or the records are legally owned by the dentist. It is the dentist only written/digital proof of what he has done. The practice is happy to provide a copy to the patient and, out of courtesy, to another health practioner, with the patient’s permission.
