Introducing Dr Dilara Yashin

Dr Dilara Yashin has a Bachelor of Dentistry with Honours from Sydney University. She also completed her undergraduate degree in Science where she was awarded the title of ‘Prosector’ and has multiple dissections that are used for study purposes by students of the science, dental and medical schools at Sydney University. She has completed her Masters in Teaching at the University of Sydney where she wrote a paper on effective learning modalities for children.

Dilara loves working with people of all ages – and is a strong advocate for preventative and painless dentistry. She has extra experience in emergency care and oral surgery especially due to volunteering her time at Westmead Hospital. She has also worked in the Endodontics Department at Sydney Dental Hospital, using microscopes to treat regular as well as challenging root canal cases (such as root canal re-treatments). She is currently involved in an international study in the Orthodontic Department at Sydney Dental Hospital, researching systemic markers of orthodontically-induced root shortening in patients who have had orthodontic treatment.

Dr Yashin was actively involved in Learning and Teaching meetings run by the Faculty of Dentistry as Sydney University, and was the Vice President of the Sydney University Dental Association. She is a member of the Australian Dental Association and the Australian Society of Endodontology. When Dr Yashin is not practicing dentistry she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking, cake decorating, any and all craftwork, floral arrangements, travelling and swimming. She speaks fluent Turkish.
